5 Things You Can Do With Flash Memory
by: Lynn Chan
Got flash memory cards? They aren’t only for your digital camera. Probably the coolest yet overlooked ways to use your flash memory card is as floppy drive replacement. Think about it, a flash memory card is really a form of storage disk.
Most notebook computers today don’t come with a floppy drive anymore. I’ve personally been in situations where I needed to share a file with someone and haven’t been able to because they handed me a floppy disk.
If you already own a card or a digital camera, chances are you already have the necessary equipment to read the card and transfer files to and from them. If you don’t it’s easy. Get yourself a flash memory card reader - they are so inexpensive these days you can even pick one up free after rebate if you watch the deals. Hookup it up to your computer and pop in the card. It will show up on your computer as a new drive. When you’re ready to save data to it, just drag and drop. It’s no different than a regular floppy or hard drive. Once you see in this light there is a whole bunch of things you can use your flash memory card for and here are 5 ideas for you.
How Does My PC Get Hot
April 13, 2008
There are many sources of heat that can raise the temperature in your PC. No, I’m not talking about the Tabasco sauce you dripped over your keyboard when you ate that bowl of chili at your desk, and no, I’m not talking about that Pamela Anderson (or Ricky Martin poster, depending on your taste) above your desk. Heat can come from external and internal sources. Let’s take a look at those different heat sources, identify them and see what can be done to eliminate the problem.
External Heat Sources
Direct Sun exposure
Is your PC sitting near a window where it is exposed directly to sun light? Then move it. That pale beige color of the case is natural and won’t tan no matter how long it sits in the sun. Move the PC into a spot where it is safe from sun rays.
Heating Systems
Is your PC sitting next to a radiator? Is there a floor heating vent next to it? Do you have a space heater under your desk right next to your PC? Then move it.

The Necessity of Spy Electronics

The Necessity of Spy Electronics
by: Kingston Amadan
When most people think of electronics, they think of audiovisual devices like cameras, computers, TVs, and recorders. Spy electronics also encompass all of things. The main difference is that while all of the above items are mainly used for entertainment purposes, spy electronics are meant to be used in surveillance. These electronics can be very technologically advanced, and some of them can be so well disguised that others do not even realize that they are being watched or listened to.
Spy electronics are necessary to make the whole surveillance profession work. After all, if you do not have recording equipment, or equipment to recover the recordings, then it is no good. You cannot perform effective surveillance. Additionally, electronics in places like command centers and control rooms are what coordinate the efforts of individual pieces of electronic equipment and they also direct the surveillance efforts. In today’s world, the professional needs electronics to be an effective bounty hunter or private investigator.
Make Windows XP Run Faster!
April 11, 2008
A friend told me: “My computer startup seems to be taking a long time. And when the hard disk finally stops churning, everything just seems slower than when it was new. Can you suggest any maintenance tips to reduce the startup time and make Windows run faster?”
I have this theory that sludge builds up inside a computer over time, much like an automobile engine. After a while, it doesn’t start right up like when it was new, it stalls unexpectedly, and performance is sluggish on the (information) highway. Is there something like engine cleaner we can pour into our personal computer to restore that “like new” performance? Actually, yes!
Cyber Sludge Remover
Here’s my special recipe to clean that icky goo out of your computer’s pipes, so Windows will start quicker, run more reliably, and go faster on the info-superhighway.
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS: Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Sprinkle over monitor, keyboard and system unit. Click to restart.
Telephone Bugs That Call You

Telephone Bugs That Call You
by: Kingston Amadan
When making use of telephone bugs, it can be very frustrating to be constantly checking, only to find that you missed a call. You have a busy life. Other things to do, other clients to work for, a life to live. You can’t just be sitting there trying to play hit and miss with telephone bugs. This is where the new generation of bugs comes in. It is possible to use a bug that will actually call you when a phone call is made. That way you need not miss a conversation that you cannot afford to miss.
Traditional bugs require that you listen to the transmissions or call in to see if a call is being placed. Additionally, some telephone bugs only allowed you to hear one end of the conversation. Neither of these things is very savory, nor do the provide help to you as you frantically try to listen in at just the right time. Additionally, many transmitters run the risk of being found as they transmit the signal out. With telephone bugs that call you, you can listen to both ends of the conversation, and receive notification when a call is placed or received by your subject.
Phone Taps That Allow You to Listen to Both Ends of the Conversation

Phone Taps That Allow You to Listen to Both Ends of the Conversation
by: Kingston Amadan
There are some phone taps that are not true taps at all. They are more like bugs that only allow you to listen to one end of the conversation. While one end can be very useful, the fact is that it can also be very incomplete, leaving a lot of things to conjecture. The most effective phone taps allow you to listen to both ends of the conversation so that you can get as much context from the conversation as possible.
Usually hard taps, soft taps, and advanced cell phone bugs are the phone taps that can allow you to listen to both sides of the conversation. These are taps that get you “into the system,” so to speak, so that you are in the middle of the communication. The best and most advanced taps are not noticeable by the parties being listened to, and so the eavesdropper can hear whatever needs to be heard without letting the others know she or he is there.
Flow Text Around a Graphic in Microsoft Word

Flow Text Around a Graphic
Question: I have inserted a photo in my Word document but when I try to make my text go around the photo, it will only go above and below it. How can I make it go around the photo?
Answer: Once you have inserted your photo or clip art, left click the object to select it, then right click it to open the shortcut menu. Left click Format Picture. Left click the Layout tab at the top of the dialog box. You will see a row of dogs. They represent how the text will flow around the graphic. To flow the text around the object in an evenly spaced square, click the dog above the word Square. Then left click Left, Center or Right under Horizontal Alignment. This tells the program where you want the photo to appear on your page (at the left, center or right side of the page).
Now left click Advanced in the lower right corner of the dialog box. Left click the Text Wrapping tab at the top of the dialog box. Under Wrap Text, left click beside the way you want your text to wrap around the graphic: Both Sides, Left Only, Right Only or Largest Only. Click OK, click OK again. Voilà. You’ve wrapped text. If it isn’t exactly the way you want, start over and try various other wrapping formats. Congratulations! You’re an expert!

Using GPS Tracking to Protect Your Vehicles
by: Kingston Amadan
It is no secret that police cars are equipped with GPS tracking theft recovery devices. These items are meant to allow a stolen police car to be found rather easily by simply using GPS tracking technology to locate the car. Then further police are dispatched to the location to apprehend the criminal and recover the car. The good news is that it is possible to use the same technology to protect your car.
GPS tracking is not a very new technology. It has been around since the 1980s, when it first began being developed for the military. It was originally meant to help keep track of troops and movements, as well as create a sophisticated mapping system to help commanders find their way over rough and unknown terrain. Today that same technology is so advanced that it is possible to track in real time and create histories of where the device has been. And GPS technology is available to anyone, and at a fairly reasonable price.
Things You Can Do To Speed Up Your Computer
April 7, 2008
Upgrading your processor will always speed up your computer, but sometimes this will not be the best thing to do. The first thing you need to do is find out where the bottle neck is in your system. The first step you would take to finding this out is by using the computers task manager. You can tell in here how much the computers resources are being used. If you want a more advanced diagnostics program then click on start, then run and type in perfmon. A program will now open and you will be able to monitor all of your computer components.
The following paragraphs will describe what you need to check, how to check it, and whether you should upgrade.
Processor: By looking in task manager you can tell if you need to upgrade. The processor will always run at 100% this is ok, but if it runs at 100% for long periods of time you will need a faster processor. Replacing the processor can be very expensive as you might also need to replace the motherboard. But you might not need to upgrade your processor as the problem could be the memory, check below.

Test Fidelity with a Spy Phone
by: Kingston Amadan
Are you worried that you partner may be cheating on you? With a spy phone it is fairly easy to find out. In today’s world, nearly everyone has his or her own cell phone. In fact, with family plans and extra phones, there is no need to share a phone. Each person’s phone is sacrosanct. This means that it is easier than ever for significant others to cheat on their partners. No worries about the wrong person answering the phone. With a personal cell phone, you know you are the only person to answer. Plus, partners keep their own phones with them, so there is little chance of someone invading the phone book and seeing suspicious activity. A spy phone, however, will cut right through all this.
The latest spy phone is one that you give to your subject. The person then uses it just like a regular cell phone. They can make and receive calls, enter numbers into a phone book, and do all of the things that one would expect from a cell phone. The major difference is that you have access to communication through the phone. You can even listen to communication that takes place around the phone.
